Making a list and g’onna check it twice because covering miles running on foot is always nice! I’m often running solo without the weight of a camera and sometimes without a phone, please excuse the photo quality. Last Updated 8/27/26… the adventure continues so check back often!

FASTPACKING (a bunch of it) at altitude in Nepal and the India Hymalaya.
There is something profound about the feeling of your body begging for you to stop while your soul will not listen. SO, I got into fastpacking which is a cross between running and backpacking. The basic idea is the less gear you carry the faster and further you can go. So I sewed myself a bivy bag, lined it with bubble foil house insulation and headed for the glaciated trails at 17500 ft. I might have had 4kg (7 pounds) on my back that day in the valleys between Ladakh and Spiti in the Indian Himalaya. For food, I carred walnuts, a fuel canister stove and oats. I was wearing running shoes that were 2 sizes too big because my toenails had already fallen off from mountain running. Well, one blizzard led to another and I got hammered by blinding wind and snow. Everything froze, headlamp, phone, tiny pocket light and battery bank. Like a house of cards crashing to the ground I was slowly realizing that I was screwed and diving forward, pulling myself through waist deep snow. Uphill across the glacier, I lunged, gagged for air and crawled until it got dark. As the last of the sun tucked behind the mountain, my eyelashes froze and my vision blurred. I had to make a decision. Either lay down in the snow because snow is an insulator or continue crawling in the blizzard with frozen limbs towards what might have been a rock. At 5”2′, 110 lbs, stuck belly first in snow and hardly even wearing a jacket, I was going to have to spend the night exposed out there. What would you have done? FOLLOW solofemalecyclist@instagram
Just for fun I put together mini adventures! This one was fun- 8 marathons in 8 days around the Annapurna circuit of Nepal! (Elevation max Thorong La Pass at 5,416 m (17,769 ft). l played leap frog with a group of bikepackers for 8 days and we all finished together. We discovered that the rougher the terrain the runner had the advantage on the uphills and the fat bikes on the downhills, we kept the pace going and ended together to share a celebratory meal!

ULTRA MARATHONS- 100km, 50km, 24 hr race and a couple of marathons, India, Thailand and Borneo, Malaysia.
